Honoring Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month
By The Corazón Team
July 2026
July is BIPOC Mental Health Month, formally recognized as Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. At Corazón Counseling and Wellness, we honor her incredible legacy and the ongoing work to bring mental health equity to underrepresented communities.
Bebe Moore Campbell was an American author, journalist, teacher, and mental health advocate who worked tirelessly to shed light on the mental health needs of the Black community and other underrepresented communities. She founded NAMI Urban Los Angeles and was a powerful voice for change, emphasizing that mental health is a fundamental part of overall wellness.
Why This Month Matters
Systemic barriers, cultural stigma, and historical trauma often prevent individuals in BIPOC communities from receiving the mental health care they deserve. This month is a time to raise awareness, dismantle stigma, and advocate for accessible, culturally responsive care for everyone.

We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and culturally affirming space for all individuals. Your story matters, and your mental health matters.
